John Broda is a Michigan-born actor and singer based in NYC, but still a true Midwesterner at his core—joyful, optimistic, and loyal in both life and the roles he takes on. He is drawn to dramas, rom-coms, and stories that challenge the status quo.
Most recently, John earned his MFA in Acting from SMU Meadows School of the Arts in May 2025. He previously earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Taylor University (2020) and later completed an M.Ed. in Instructional Design and eLearning (2022) all while taking on musical theatre gigs.
Some of John's favorite credits include: Fred in A Christmas Carol (Dallas Theater Center), Tommy in Carrie (Theatre Three), Understudy/Swing for The Pirates of Penzance (Theatre Three), Swing for God of Carnage (Theatre Three), and Tristan in The Effect (SMU).
When not in rehearsals, John enjoys his instructional design work, pilates, working new plays with friends, drinking dirty chais, singing and jamming out to his favorite music, or a combination of all the above.
